Because of the covid-19 pandemic and restrictions on physical conferences, it is with great regret that we will not be meeting in person at our annual conference this year. However, I am pleased to let you know that we are instead holding the IFRS Foundation Virtual Conference on 28–29 September 2020. This conference combines the annual IFRS Foundation conference, which was meant to take place in Madrid in June, and annual World Standard-setters conference.
We have created an event that—to the extent possible—will provide the information and networking opportunities you would normally experience by attending our conferences.
It is a unique opportunity for you to hear directly from the International Accounting Standards Board (Board) members on the latest developments in IFRS Standards and on major consultations taking place.
The conference will offer interactive Q&A sessions—where delegates can ask presenters questions—panel discussions and virtual networking opportunities with fellow delegates and speakers in a chatroom environment.
Day 1 will include:
• an update on the work of the Board and the IFRS Interpretations Committee;
• a discussion about applying IFRS Standards in the light of covid-19; and
• an interactive Q&A session on improving communication in financial reports.
Day 2 will offer nine interactive presentations on technical projects, allowing you to choose sessions that most interest you. More details can be found in the conference agenda.
You will also be able to view recordings of the sessions after the conference.
We look forward to seeing you at #IFRSvirtual2020.
Chairman of the Board
