Course Leader

Your course leader has extensive experience as an international trainer in a wide range of financial
subjects, ranging from financial decision making and risk management at the strategic level to more
technically focused areas in bonds, equities, derivatives, portfolio and risk management, foreign
exchange and money markets. He is confident in the front-office and back-office environments: in the latter area he is particularly in demand as a trainer in the application of international accounting standards, with an emphasis on accounting for financial instruments and derivatives.

He has spent 30 years working in a wide variety of positions in banking and finance, including a six year period as treasurer of a German-based foreign trade bank, before devoting his time exclusively to training, lecturing and writing from 2001 onwards. His training activities for major international and
regional banks take him to Europe, the Middle East, and South and East Asia. He is also active as a
university lecturer specialising in finance for MBA programmes. He has a strong association with the
UK’s Open University Business School MBA programme. He is also a visiting lecturer at number of
other universities in the UK and in the US.
